Description
Book 12 in the Mitch Strongbow Series by author Tim Ford.
I pulled up a chair and sat beside Mindy. I smiled at her, but I was so deep in thought over Colonel Clemenc’s warning. Each time there was a loud boom, I was startled, like a trip wire just went off. I would stare into the darkness, and swore I saw the Vietcong coming through a barbwire fence. My breathing was becoming erratic, palms were getting sweaty, gut flipped and my mouth was now parched. Gotta say, I was not having much fun. I jumped up out of my chair and raced back inside the house. Mindy was asking if everything was all right as I stormed off. I headed right for the washroom and threw some cold water on my face. Looked at myself in the mirror, I looked terrible. Took a drink of water, looked back into the mirror and saw a blonde-haired angel behind me. Mindy had a concerned look on her face, asking if I was all right. “Vietnam flashbacks babe, sorry. Loud explosions shake me to my core.”
