Description
What would you do if you found a lottery ticket that was accidentally dropped? Would you try to find the owner? What if you checked the ticket and found it was a multi-million dollar winner? Would you tell anyone?
On Friday, at closing, as Stan brought in the hall display stuff, a card drifted out of the pallet of fertilizer. He’d stepped on it as he wiggled past it on his way to the back door. He thought it might be a missed piece of the paperwork for the material. It wasn’t. The tag showed a dozen dates with a string of numbers after each, starting with the next day-Saturday. A lottery ticket buyer must have dropped it, and it slid out of sight on a gust from the doorway across the mall hallway. He’d just stuffed it into his pocket to get it off his tidy floor.
