Learn with Us

Pandamonium Publishing House offers writing courses and self-directed learning for people who are serious about craft, clarity, and finishing meaningful work.

Our programs are designed for writers who want to understand how their writing functions for readers, on the page, and over the length of a full project. We focus on structure, emotional logic, pacing, and revision, rather than trends, shortcuts, or surface techniques.

We offer both live and self-directed learning options.

Live courses are taught over Zoom and require active engagement. Sharing work is encouraged, never forced.

Self-directed programs are designed for independent learning and include structured audio, guided materials, and practical tools that help writers evaluate and improve their work with clarity and direction.

Because every project is different and programs vary in length and format, pricing for live courses is provided upon request. Self-directed programs are available for direct purchase.

If you’re unsure which option is the best fit, we’re happy to help you decide.

The Psychology of Hooks: Opening Pages Diagnostic

A self-directed diagnostic system to identify exactly why your opening pages aren’t working and what to fix first.

Most manuscripts don’t fail because of writing ability. They fail because the opening pages aren’t doing what the reader’s brain expects.

This diagnostic is designed to help you see your opening the way a reader experiences it, not the way you intended it.

Using a structured, psychology-based framework, you’ll evaluate your first one to two pages across key areas that determine engagement, including genre alignment, emotional signal, curiosity, momentum, and tension.

This is not a passive course. It’s an active assessment tool that guides you through identifying what’s working, what isn’t, and where to focus your revisions.

What’s Included

  • 21-minute Psychological Hooks audio training
  • Opening Pages Diagnostic Workbook
  • Step-by-step instruction process
  • Scorecard for evaluation and interpretation

How It Works

  1. Listen to the audio to understand the framework
  2. Revisit your opening pages with the workbook
  3. Work through targeted diagnostic questions
  4. Score your opening using the evaluation system
  5. Identify the most critical issue to fix first

Estimated completion time: 30–45 minutes

What This Diagnoses

  • Whether your opening matches genre expectations
  • If the emotional experience is landing
  • Where curiosity breaks down
  • Whether stakes and tension are present
  • If your opening has momentum or just information
  • Where engagement drops at the micro level

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • A clear understanding of what is not working in your opening
  • A prioritized list of what to fix first
  • A structured way to evaluate your own writing moving forward
  • Increased objectivity when revising

Who This Is For

  • Writers with a completed or partial draft
  • Authors who feel their opening isn’t working
  • Anyone preparing for editing or publication
  • Writers who want clarity before investing further

Who This Is Not For

  • Writers who have not started their manuscript
  • Authors looking for done-for-you editing
  • Those unwilling to revise their work

Start diagnosing your opening pages with clarity and direction.
